Social Investment
At WES, we are committed to social investment through our core value of Servant Leadership. Through philanthropic endeavors, regional development, and community investments, we are an integral part of the communities where we live and operate. Western Midstream’s Social Involvement and Volunteering Program is in place to facilitate this commitment.
At WES, we firmly believe that volunteer activities make a difference in our communities. Through volunteer events, we hope that each employee experiences personal growth, learns new skills, and connects with other Western Midstream employees. It’s so important to us that participation in our Employee Volunteer Program is part of our annual bonus compensation plan.
Our social investment program is guided by our Senior VP, Human Capital Management and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, our Social Investment Manager, and eight local focus groups. These groups select company-sponsored and local nonprofit organizations and coordinate volunteer events that share the giving priorities in their communities.
Supporting our Employees’ Volunteerism
WES encourages volunteerism and monetary donations through the Volunteer Rewards Program and Company Matching Program.
- Volunteer Rewards Program: Employees can record their eligible volunteer hours, and Western Midstream will donate $40 per hour to the nonprofit organization, up to $800 annually, per employee.
- Company Matching Program: Western Midstream will match 50% of employee contributions to eligible nonprofit organizations, up to $1,000 annually.
The following organizations may be eligible to receive donations from Western Midstream through the Volunteer Rewards Program and/or Company Matching Program:
- Nonprofit organizations recognized by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service both as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and as public charities.
- Governmental entities such as public libraries, publicly owned and operated museums, municipal zoos, public schools, state colleges and universities, and community colleges.
At this time, we do not offer grants to nonprofit organizations. As we continue to develop our Social Involvement and Volunteering Program, we will consider expanding our program to include nonprofit grants.
