Michael Simpson has served as Vice President, Southern Commercial Development, for Western Midstream since March 2025. He previously served as Director, West Texas Commercial, starting in 2022.  

Mr. Simpson has more than 20 years of experience spanning the upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors in the energy industry. Over his career, Mr. Simpson has held a variety of increasing roles and responsibilities in internal audit, commercial development and midstream operations with Enterprise Products, Anadarko Petroleum, Alta Mesa Resources, and Magellan Midstream. 

Mr. Simpson holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington and Master of Business Administration from Sam Houston State University.
